Brexit: Dover quiet as the United Kingdom finally leaves the EU

A new era has begun for relations between the UK and the EU, as transitional arrangements came to an end on the 1st January.

The scene was quiet in Dover, with barely a trickle of the regular lorry and container traffic coming through.

Trucks returning to France had to undergo a coronavirus test to conform to new rules upon arrival, as Sky News’ Helen-Ann Smith discovered.
