A British man has been arrested in Cyprus on suspicion of espionage and terrorism offences.
Local media reported that the person is alleged to have hyperlinks with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and that he was retaining RAF Akrotiri – the UK’s most vital airbase for operations within the Middle East – underneath surveillance.
The Philenews web site mentioned the person was arrested following intelligence he was planning an imminent terrorist assault.
