British tennis star Harriet Dart has apologised after requesting her French opponent "wear deodorant" as a result of she "smells really bad".
The British quantity 4 was competing towards the French wild card Lois Boisson within the Open de Rouen when the alternate with the umpire was caught on digital camera.
Writing on Instagram, Dart mentioned: "It was a heat-of-the-moment remark I actually remorse. That’s not how I need to carry myself and I take full accountability.
"I have a lot of respect for Lois and how she competed today. I’ll learn from this and move forward."
Dart finally misplaced 6-0 6-3.
