Buchanan’s late free throws raise Virginia previous Florida

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Blake Buchanan hit 3 of 4 from the free-throw line within the closing 62 seconds to raise Virginia to a 73-70 win over Florida on the Hall of Fame Series in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Friday night time.

Walter Clayton Jr. scored on the basket to tie the sport at 69-69 with 1:18 to play, however his free throw with 51 seconds left to drag the Gators inside one, 71-70, was the final level Florida would rating. Buchanan hit the primary of two from the foul line with 11 seconds left that made it 72-70 and Reece Beekman hit the second of two free throws to set the ultimate margin.

Buchanan hit 10-of-16 free throws and completed with 18 factors to steer Virginia (2-0). Beekman added 13 factors, 5 assists and 4 steals and Jacob Groves scored 12 factors.



Riley Kugel led 4 Gators (1-1) into double-figure scoring with 17 factors and Will Richard added 16 factors. Micah Handlogten scored 14 factors and grabbed 14 rebounds and Tyrese Samuel added 10 factors and 11 rebounds.
