Camila Batmanghelidjh: Kids Company charity founder dies aged 61

Camila Batmanghelidjh, who based the high-profile Kids Company charity, and was a well known campaigner for deprived children, has died aged 61.

Born in Iran, Batmanghelidjh rose to prominence within the UK after organising Kids Company in south London within the Nineties to supply assist for youngsters in poverty.

The charity collapsed in 2015 amid allegations of monetary mismanagement and sexual abuse. Police later investigated the allegations, and located no proof of wrongdoing.
