‘Can’t assure lives will not be misplaced’ due to a coal tip catastrophe, says Welsh authorities
Nearly 60 years after the Aberfan coal tip catastrophe claimed 144 lives, the deputy first minister of Wales informed Sky News that it’s "difficult" to make sure lives wouldn’t be misplaced if an identical tragedy occurred immediately.
While £130 million has been invested in bettering security at coal tip websites throughout Wales, residents dwelling close to the following tips argue that these measures are inadequate.
