Chain-reaction collision in dense fog on Turkish motorway leaves at the least 10 folks useless, 57 injured

ANKARA, Turkey — A series-reaction crash Thursday involving seven autos on a motorway in northwest Turkey killed at the least 10 folks and injured 57 others, officers stated.

The pileup occurred in dense fog and low visibility on the Northern Marmara Highway in Sakarya province, some 150 kilometers (93 miles) from Istanbul.

An investigation has been launched into the accident however Gov. Yasar Karadeniz of Sakarya stated it probably occurred when a automobile hit a truck in poor visibility, triggering different crashes on the rear.



At least three intercity buses have been concerned within the crash.

Authorities imagine some passengers died once they left their autos and have been struck by one other automobile, Karadeniz advised reporters on the scene.

Seven of the injured have been in severe situation, the governor stated.

Police and emergency personnel have been seen clearing the wreckage on the scene.
