Councillor’s spouse jailed for inciting racial hatred on X after Southport murders launched
A Northampton childminder who was jailed for inciting racial hatred after the Southport murders has been launched from jail.
Lucy Connolly, the spouse of Conservative councillor Raymond Connolly, was handed a 31-month sentence in October final yr after she admitted publishing and distributing "threatening or abusive" written materials on the X social media web site.
In an obvious reference to asylum seekers staying in UK lodges, Connolly posted on the day of the homicide of three ladies in Southport on 29 July final yr: "Mass deportation now, set fire to all the f****** hotels full of the b*****ds for all I care… if that makes me racist so be it."
