South Korea’s president Yoon Suk Yeol has been faraway from workplace after the nation’s constitutional court docket upheld his impeachment, following his declaration of martial regulation final December.
The court docket’s ruling sparked emotional reactions, with each protesters and supporters within the streets of Seoul, cheering and waving banners.
Under the regulation, South Korea is now required to carry a nationwide election throughout the subsequent 60 days.
In response to the unrest, Han Duck-soo, South Korea’s performing president, has issued an emergency order to make sure public security, with riot police being deployed throughout the capital.
