Culture secretary rejects claims of ‘weak’ authorities response to US tariffs

Sky News spoke with Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy in regards to the ongoing turmoil in world monetary markets as Donald Trump’s world tariffs come into full impact.

In an interview with Sky’s Wilfred Frost, Nandy was requested if she feared a world recession might be on the horizon.

She responded, "Well, we don’t think a trade war is in anyone’s interests, and what we’re doing is keeping a cool head, working with our allies."

She went on to say the UK is "a trading nation" and emphasised "it’s in our interest to continue to be able to trade".
