British band Cymande curated a cult following within the Nineteen Seventies, however they cemented their legacy many years later, when hip-hop artists from De La Soul to the Wu-Tang Clan to the Fugees found and sampled a few of their iconic songs. Now, Cymande is out with a brand-new album. The band’s founding members spoke to Michelle Miller about their unbelievable journey.
