During an oversight listening to, Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) pressed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent over who pays the tariffs imposed by President Trump. American companies that import items initially pay tariffs, and companies could then move on some or the entire price on to shoppers by larger costs.
