In an occasion to rival the well-known Flight 19 squadron disappearance within the Bermuda Triangle, in 1950 a Douglas C-54 airplane carrying 44 navy personnel took off from Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska. Two hours into its flight, it abruptly disappeared. Despite one of many largest search and rescue missions ever mounted, not a single hint of the airplane was ever discovered. This mysterious disappearance resulted in one of many largest teams of American navy personnel to ever go lacking. Several UFO sightings had been reported by the navy within the days surrounding the disappearance. Could the sightings be associated?
