Donald Trump has threatened to levy a brand new 50% tariff on EU items imported into the US – and a 25% tariff on Apple iPhones.
In a sequence of Truth Social posts, he mentioned commerce negotiations with the European Union had been "going nowhere!" and he was seeking to impose the brand new tariff from 1 June.
And he warned Apple that the 25% tariff would occur if iPhones weren’t manufactured within the US.
Apple was seeking to shift its manufacturing from China to India after the US president launched a commerce struggle on Beijing.
