Mexico’s most-wanted cartel boss and head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes, was killed in a Mexican army operation. The US supplied intelligence help for the operation, the White House stated.
The killing sparked widespread unrest, with suspected gang members torching buses and companies whereas clashing with safety forces.
