Elle Edwards: Victim’s father ‘felt sick’ after discovering out co-defendant eligible for early launch
The father of Elle Edwards, who was shot and killed on Christmas Eve in 2022, says plans to free the killer’s confederate early makes a "mockery" of the justice system.
26-year-old Elle was murdered when she was caught within the crossfire of a gangland feud exterior a pub in Wirral.
Two years on, her father Tim has been informed the person who helped conceal a gun after the homicide is because of be launched early due to jail overcrowding.
The Ministry of Justice wrote to Mr Edwards, saying Thomas Waring might be freed as early as April 2026, fifteen months ahead of deliberate.
In a letter to Tim, the Prime Minister defended the early launch scheme, calling it "difficult but necessary".
