Britain’s former ambassador to Iran has informed Sky News the battle between Israel and Hezbollah is way from over and is prone to worsen.

Speaking to Sophy Ridge, Robert Macaire warned that the escalation "has a long way to go and it could go a lot further".

He additionally mentioned the connection between Israel and Iran was the "worst it’s been in a long time".

Mr Macaire additionally echoed the federal government’s name for British residents to depart Lebanon instantly.
