Faultlines: Struggling farmers face unsure future post-Brexit

Anger is brewing amongst farmers throughout the UK, with many anxious about the way forward for their career.

They say modifications within the the agricultural sector post-Brexit might see meals shortages and 1000’s of job losses.

Discontent is concentrated on low-cost overseas imports and modifications to subsidies forcing farmers to surrender land in favour of environmental schemes.

The UK Government insists it backs farmers – saying it places agriculture “at the forefront” of any commerce offers and has maintained the £2.4bn annual farming finances.

The Welsh Government says farming is “important to Wales and to our economy”. It is consulting on plans and says it desires farming to have a “successful future”.

Sky’s West of England and Wales correspondent Dan Whitehead joins farmers on the point of leaving the sector and people arranging a rising protest motion.
