Fetterman asserts that Hamas needs to be “neutralized” prior to engaging in any discussions about a ceasefire.

Sen. John Fetterman expressed his support for Israel and stated that he believes it is not appropriate to discuss a ceasefire at this moment, in contrast to certain fellow Democrats who have been advocating for one.

On X Wednesday, the Pennsylvania Democrat expressed the importance of backing Israel in their mission to eradicate the Hamas terrorists responsible for the brutal killing of innocent individuals.

“I cannot reword”

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, a group of protesters marched towards Mr. Fetterman’s office in Philadelphia on Thursday. Some of them carried signs with the message “end the occupation.”

Mr. Fetterman expressed deep concern over certain members of Congress hastily attributing the responsibility of the recent hospital attack in Gaza to Israel. The incident resulted in a tragic loss of hundreds of lives.

He questioned the credibility of a group that recently killed innocent Israeli civilians, compared to our important ally.

His posts came after Rep. Rashida Tlaib came under fire for not apologizing for supporting the claim that Israel caused the hospital explosion, after evidence showed that the blow was likely caused by a misfiring missile from a Jihad group associated with Hamas.

The Michigan Democrat has been vocal about calling for a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas, even introducing the “Ceasefire Now Resolution” that urged the Biden administration to “immediately call for and facilitate deescalation and a cease-fire,” and “promptly send and facilitate the entry of humanitarian assistance into Gaza.”

Despite a small number of Democrats advocating for a cease-fire, Israel has received extensive backing from both Congress and the White House. On Thursday, the Senate intends to hold a vote on a resolution that reiterates its support for Israel while condemning Hamas and Iran’s endorsement of worldwide terrorism.

President Biden is considering a $100 billion aid package that includes money for Ukraine, and the war in Israel. Reports said the package could be sent to Congress by Friday, after Mr. Biden’s trip to Israel.
