Fighter jets scrambled in restricted airspace close to Biden
WILMINGTON, Del. — Fighter jets have been scrambled after a civilian plane violated restricted airspace whereas President Biden was visiting Wilmington, Delaware.
Secret Services spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi stated that the plane violated the airspace north of Wilmington shortly after 2 p.m on Saturday.
“As a precaution, assets were scrambled to intercept and the civilian aircraft safely landed at a nearby airport,” Mr. Guglielmi stated.
Mr. Guglielmi stated that Mr. Biden’s go to residence to Wilmington was not impacted. The Secret Service and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the incident.
