The former head of stories at Channel 4 has advised Sky News that Gregg Wallace is only a ‘small a part of an even bigger downside on the BBC and the media business as entire.’
Dorothy Byrne stated the alleged incidents confirmed how the company handled large title presenters in another way from manufacturing workers.
Mr Wallace stepped down as a presenter of MasterChef final week following 13 allegations of inappropriate behaviour over 17 years.
He launched a video on Sunday morning saying his accusers had been a "handful of middle-class women of a certain age".
Ms Byrne stated: "Does he think that young women… want to hear rape jokes, want to be quizzed in smutty detail about lesbian sex? Does he think those young women want to have their breasts stared at and hear about his sex life?"
A BBC spokesperson stated: “We take any points which are raised with us significantly, and we have now sturdy processes in place to take care of them. We are all the time clear that any behaviour which falls beneath the requirements anticipated by the BBC is not going to be tolerated.
“Where a person is contracted instantly by an exterior manufacturing firm we share any complaints or considerations with that firm and we’ll all the time assist them when addressing them."
