The French coastguard stated a ship carrying 67 migrants capsized off the coast of Boulogne-sur-Mer in northern France in a single day.
The remaining 63 individuals on board have been rescued in an operation involving 4 ships and a helicopter, it added.
After the tragedy, the federal government stated it was "accelerating" efforts to cease individuals smuggling and small boat crossings. But Nigel Farage, chief of Reform UK, stated it ought to "start moving fast" on the difficulty.
