Fragmented Britain: The worry dividing communities
“I don’t remember feeling this unsafe ever before,” says 76-year-old religious Sikh Resham Kaur who moved to the UK from India when she was 18.
She’s ready for 2 males to stroll her dwelling from the gurdwara – a Sikh place of worship – at a time of rising fears over bodily and verbal racial abuse.
“When I came to this country I didn’t fear for my safety. But now I do – every day. It’s a lot worse now,” she says.
What unites Britain’s fragmented society is worry amongst minority communities – even when the causes are totally different, as Sky’s communities correspondent Lisa Holland and journalist Amrit Singh Mann report.
