GOP senator provides sarcastic apology for ‘effectively, all of us are going to die’ remark

Appearing at a city corridor on Friday, Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) was pressed on cuts to Medicaid – the well being care program for low-income Americans – in House Republicans’ finances plan. One viewers member shouted that “people will die.” “Well, we all are going to die,” stated Ernst, who’s going through reelection in 2026. When hostile parts of the group balked on the response, she stated: “For heaven’s sakes, folks.” The senator and her workplace argued Friday that Republicans are actually attempting to “strengthen” Medicaid. Ernst on Saturday issued a sarcastic apology during which she invoked the Tooth Fairy and inspired individuals to transform to Christianity so they might have everlasting life.
