Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has introduced a plan for 4 government-backed inquiries into grooming gangs.
The new native inquiries are along with one in Oldham and will probably be suggested by Tom Crowther KC, who led the Telford grooming gang inquiry in 2022.
Sky News understands the inquiries is not going to have energy to summon witnesses to provide proof, as Labour’s Rotherham MP Sarah Champion had pushed for.
