High Bleeding Risk Following PCI
Post-discharge bleeding following successful PCI is common, especially in older adults, those with kidney disease, anemia, and prior history of bleeding. Such bleeding is equally hazardous in terms of long-term prognosis as compared to patients who have myocardial infarction on follow-up.
Shortening the duration of dual antiplatelet therapy or switching to P2Y12 monotherapy earlier may reduce the incidence of such bleeds.
In this talk, we will talk about the incidence, prognostic significance, risk models, and efforts to lower the incidence of post-discharge bleeds.
