Home Secretary has referred to as Sir Adrian Fulford’s report "heartbreaking", whereas acknowledging systematic failures within the run-up to Axel Rudakubana’s assault.
The report confirmed a "systematic failure of the state to prevent a vile and sickening individual perpetrating this atrocity", Shabana Mahmood mentioned in response to Fulford’s findings.
Mahmood additionally paid tribute to the victims and their households, including the "senseless killing of three young girls" had left a "lasting mark on our national conscience".
