Home secretary Yvette Cooper laid a floral tribute on the scene of the horrendous knife assault in Southport – alongside native MP, Patrick Hurley.
The house secretary has already met with the chief constable, police and crime commissioner and the mayor.
Ms Cooper additionally spoke with among the first responders who attended the scene yesterday.
