Donald Trump is making massive modifications to the White House, demolishing what was once the east wing of the US president’s official residence. In its place, a ballroom is ready to be constructed. Controversially, the $300mn venture will probably be funded by what the Trump administration calls ‘patriot donors’ — amongst them tech giants Amazon, Google and Meta, in addition to crypto teams Tether and Coinbase.
