Forty hectares of greenhouses, which shall be heated by burning garbage, are set to be in-built Essex – making it the most important low-carbon horticulture website in Europe.
These greenhouses, which shall be positioned in Rivenhall, within the Braintree space, would be the first of their variety and will present round 6% of the tomatoes consumed within the UK.
The venture needs to be operational by 2027, when nearly all of the county’s family garbage shall be incinerated on the website, reasonably than going to landfill the place it might emit damaging gasses into the environment.
