Iranians head to the polls
CNN’s Fred Pleitgen studies from Tehran as Iranians take part in legislative elections that analysts say might see a report low turnout, as critics have known as for a boycott and the nation grapples with financial points and rising political mistrust.
Some 15,000 candidates are competing for the 290-seat parliamentary election, and 144 are operating for the 88 seats of the Assembly of Experts, which has the facility to nominate the Supreme Leader, the best political authority in Iran.
