The governments of Iraq and Syria have accused the US of a blatant act of aggression, after a collection of airstrikes concentrating on Iranian backed militias.
85 targets have been hit in line with the United States army, together with intelligence centres, command amenities and storage bunkers.
President Biden mentioned that such strikes would proceed "at times and places of our choosing", whereas repeating that the US "did not seek conflict in the middle east, or anywhere else in the world."
