IT outage: Holidays cancelled and travellers left stranded world wide

Friday was meant to be one of many busiest days of the summer time as households jetted off on holidays on the finish of the varsity yr, however travellers have seen their flights cancelled, or been unable to return house, within the aftermath of the worldwide IT outage.

Travel journalist Simon Calder advised Sky News: " Under air passenger rights rules within Europe, if your flights are cancelled, then the airline has to get you to your destination as soon as possible."

Mr Calder assured passengers that "it’s very clear what the rules are".
