Jenrick hits out justice system shake-up

Proposals to chop jail sentences for some offenders are "making a mockery of the law", in keeping with shadow justice secretary Robert Jenrick.

Sir Brian Leveson, chairman of the impartial evaluation of the prison courts, has revealed a proposed shake-up of the justice system, together with the restrict of jury trials to ease the strain on courts.

Mr Jenrick mentioned Sir Brian’s proposals are "not the right ones", and "would see people like burglars or sick individuals like stalkers getting off having served just a fifth of their sentence in prison, just 20% of their sentence if they pleaded guilty early".
