Jim Gamble blames ‘rising toxicity’ as he quits grooming gang inquiry

The man who was the frontrunner to guide the inquiry into gangs who abused younger women says he pulled out of the method as a result of rising toxicity surrounding the choice process.

Jim Gamble advised Sky News "petty, personal and political issues" had been ruining the "opportunity of a lifetime" to assist the victims of abuse.

"Some people are serving their own vested interests in this, and they know who they are," he stated.

"Everyone needs to park their own petty, personal and political issues and focus on what’s right for victims."
