Following his victory within the SNP management race, John Swinney MSP has confronted a vote on the Scottish parliament to substantiate him as Humza Yousaf’s successor.
The Scottish Greens abstained from the vote, with Mr Swinney in a position to fend off challenges from Scottish Tory chief Douglas Ross, Scottish Labour chief Anas Sarwar, and Scottish Liberal Democrats chief Alex Cole-Hamilton.
