Labour MP assaults authorities over Waspi fee refusal

The marketing campaign group Women Against State Pension Inequality (Waspi) has been calling on the federal government to pay compensation to ladies born within the Nineteen Fifties who had been affected by an increase within the state pension age.

Prime minister Sir Keir Starmer defended a choice to not compensate these affected – saying doing so would "burden" the taxpayer.

Talking to Ali Fortescue, Labour MP Brian Leishman says his response to the announcement is a "combination of being shocked, stunned and angry and in no short measure, disappointed".
