Labour peer and human rights lawyer describes Rishi Sunak’s speech as ‘sinister’

Baroness Chakrabarti, the Labour peer and human rights lawyer, says essentially the most "sinister" a part of Rishi Sunak’s speech on Friday was the prime minister "almost suggesting that he has read the riot act to the police".

When challenged by Trevor Phillips about her use of the phrase sinister, Baroness Chakrabarti says she makes use of it due to the "cheek" of Mr Sunak.

She provides that she doesn’t suppose "people in Britain want their politicians to be deciding how particular police operations should be conducted".
