Lester Holt pronounces he’s stepping down as anchor of ‘NBC Nightly News,’ greater than a decade after taking up throughout Brian Williams’ false reporting controversy. Holt’s exit follows different main departures at NBC News, together with longtime ‘Today’ host Hoda Kotb and one-time ‘Meet the Press’ moderator Chuck Todd. ‘After 10 years, 17 when you embody my years on the weekends, the time has come for me to step away from my position as anchor of Nightly News,’ Holt wrote in a press release to NBC staffers on Monday. ‘It has really been the respect of a lifetime to work with every of you each day, preserving journalism as our true north and our viewers on the middle of all the pieces we do.’
