The Met Office has upgraded its wind warning for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly from amber to purple, saying the climate will now pose a "danger to life".
It says Storm Goretti will convey "dangerous stormy winds," ranging from 4pm till 11pm as we speak.
The forecaster provides that folks ought to anticipate "damage to buildings and homes, with roofs blown off and power lines brought down" and "flying debris resulting in danger to life".
