Midwives gathered in Westminster to name for elevated funding, extra job alternatives for newly certified workers, funded coaching, and fairer bursaries.
Their message is obvious: the UK is going through a maternity staffing disaster, but many newly educated midwives are unable to search out work.
On International Day of the Midwife, college students and professionals are urging motion, with some saying they’re “qualifying into unemployment” and feeling more and more annoyed about their future within the occupation.
