Minister says govt lessening shorter jail sentences as a result of they ‘are usually not working’
Justice minister Jake Richards says the federal government is toughening up jail sentences for extra severe offences – however has admitted the federal government is lessening sentences for minor crimes as a result of they’re "clearly not working".
Mr Richards spoke to the Sky’s Darren McCaffrey on Politics Hub after Justice Secretary David Lammy introduced that these convicted of killing police or jail officers will obtain entire life orders – with no probability of parole.
