Conservative MP Mark Menzies who has been going through allegations of misusing marketing campaign funds has give up the Conservative Party and says he will not stand on the subsequent basic election.
Mr Menzies strongly denies the claims towards him.
The announcement comes after Lancashire Police stated it was reviewing "information" about Mr Menzies after Labour requested for an investigation.
