Former Conservative minister Nadhim Zahawi has informed Sky’s Sophy Ridge that he is anxious the chancellor is making life extra tough for herself by scaring off the wealthy.
It comes after Rachel Reeves signalled her first finances as chancellor could possibly be a painful mixture of spending cuts, tax rises and elevated borrowing.
She refused to rule out growing enterprise and wealth taxes, as she seeks to deal with what she says is a dire financial inheritance from the final authorities.
