NATO secretary basic Mark Rutte has warned its member states are "Russia’s next target" and says they "need to be ready".
Speaking at a safety convention in Berlin, Rutte says the bloc should make all efforts to forestall a battle "on the scale of war our grandparents and great-grandparents endured".
