Rare purple climate warnings have been issued for all of Northern Ireland and elements of Scotland forward of Storm Eowyn.
The Met Office alerts imply robust winds might trigger a hazard to life when the storm hits on Friday.
They apply from 7am to 2pm on Friday, with yellow climate warnings coming into drive for the remainder of the nation.
