The suspect behind the New Orleans assault has been preliminarily recognized as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, three senior legislation enforcement officers briefed on the matter have advised our US companion community NBC News.
Police earlier mentioned the suspect had been killed after a firefight with police.
The FBI has declared the incident is being handled as an "act of terrorism".
