Pope Francis’s successor is set after 133 cardinals gathered within the Sistine Chapel on 7 May to start out the conclave.
He was confirmed by senior cardinal Dominique Mamberti, who got here out on to the balcony of St Peter’s Basilica to cheering crowds.
