Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary have been known as to the scene of a "light aircraft crash" off Shanklin Road close to Ventnor at 9.24am, the power mentioned.
A witness, Leigh Goldsmith, informed the Isle of Wight County Press she noticed the helicopter "spiralling" earlier than crashing right into a hedge as she drove alongside a close-by highway on Monday morning.
