Minister for policing and crime Dame Diana Johnson MP confirms facial recognition vans shall be rolled out throughout police forces in England.
The police’s use of facial recognition expertise is to be considerably expanded in an try to catch extra offenders, ministers have introduced.
There is new steerage for the police to contemplate disclosing ethnicity and nationality of suspects.
Johnson stated: "We want to be as transparent and as open as possible with the public, we think that’s important" and a "charge should include nationality and ethnicity, unless there is a very good reason not to do so."
